Bu masjid uncha katta emas edi. Ichki o’lchami 10x10
metr edi. Uning sathini 9 ta gumbaz yopib turgan. Masjid
odatdagidik emas, balki uning ikki devori bo’lgan xolos
qolgan ikki tomoni ochiq bo’lgan. XI asrdagi
ta’mirlanishdan keyin pishiq g’isht bilan qoplanadi.
Mehrob januby-g’arbiy devor markazida, bo’lib, chuqur
nag’al shaklida qat-qat burmalangan mato bilan
jihozlangan tokcha bo’lgan.

Chorustun masjidi qurilishi vaqti haqida turli xil
fikrlar bor. Ba’zilar uni IX-X asrda qurilgan, yonida
xom g’ishtdan qurilgan minora bor edi. Masjid
ta’mirlangandan so’ng o’rniga yengil minora
qurilgan deyishadi.
Arab geografi Al Maqdisiy X asr o’rtalarida
Chorustun haqida yozar ekan: “Nomozgoh Termiz
rabotining o’rtasidadir”, deydi.

mehrobi hovliga qaratilgan. Bu
yerda yiliga ikki marta: Ramoon
Hayiti nomozi va Qurbon Hayiti
nomoziga shahar va atrofdan
to’plangan erkaklar nomoz
o’qishgan. Imom mehrobdan
turib, to’planganlar e’tiborini
qiblaga, Makkaga qaratib, nomoz
o’qigan. Termiz nomozgohi
Chorustun ilk musulmon
masjidlari turidan bo’lgan.

Masjid (Machit) (arab. — sajda qilinadigan joy) — musulmonlar jamoa boʻlib,
namoz oʻqiydigan joy, ibodatxona. Masjidlar, asosan, kundalik besh vaqt
namoz oʻqish uchun moʻljallangan. Juma va hayit namozlari esa jome
masjidlarida oʻqiladi. Birinchi masjidni Madinada Muhammad paygʻambar
qurdirgan. Masjidlar dastlab shaharlarda, keyinchalik qishloq va mahallalarda
barpo etilgan. Masjidlarning toʻrida, Makkaga qaragan (qibla) tomonida
mehrob, hovlisida hovuz, bir yoki bir necha minora boʻladi.
