The Constitution of Uzbekistan • The Constitution of Uzbekistan was adopted 8 December 1992 year sets presidential republic. It consists of six sections, 26 chapters divided into 128 articles and preamble. Sections: • Basic principles. • Fundamental rights, freedoms and duties of man and citizen. • Society and the individual. • Administrative-territorial and polity. • Organization of state power. • Procedure for amending the Constitution.

The Basic Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan • Adopted under the leadership of President Islam Karimov in 1992 the Constitution of independent Uzbekistan has opened a new era of development of our country. Date of its adoption - December 8 - separate law declared the Day of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan - a national holiday.

• The Constitution is the fundamental legal document each State, the rules which determine not only the principles of the political system, the organization of state power and administration, but also the norms of public life. Thus, in the 14th chapter of the Uzbek Constitution enshrined the fundamental provisions constituting the legal basis for the family lifestyle. Another of her head (12th) is dedicated to economic fabric of society, providing guaranteed freedom of economic activity, protection of the rights of the owner.

• Constitutional provisions, its principles constitute the legal basis on which the norms are all branches of law - financial, civil, criminal, labor, etc. Any legal act (laws, decrees, regulations, etc.) based on the Constitution. In other words, it is considered the foundation, the source of all legislation.

• The mere fact that this discussion suggests the direct participation of the people in the creation of the Basic Law of independent Uzbekistan. "The project of the Constitution - IA Karimov said - we worked for about two years, for two and a half months, she held public discussion and in that time has been enriched by jewels from the treasure of folk wisdom."

This is the Preamble (or introduction) of the Constitution.

This is the actual Constitution of the United States.

The Constitution was written in 1787 by 55 men we call the Framers of the Constitution. These men included George Washington and Ben Franklin.

What is the Constitution? The Constitution says how the government works. It creates the President. It creates the Congress. It creates the Supreme Court.

The government is split into three parts or branches. 1. One branch is the Congress. The Congress makes laws. The people elect the members of Congress. 2. The next branch is the President. The President enforces the laws. 3. The last branch is the Courts. The courts decide what the law means when there are questions.  All of the parts have to work together. Just like the Framers agreed on the Constitution, the parts have to agree on the laws. No part has too much power. The power is shared. This helps protect the people. The Constitution sets up the government.

How it all works

The Constitution gives us rights and freedoms as citizens of the United States. Watch the next four slides and think about what freedoms these pictures show.

The law is the set of rules that we live by. The Constitution is the highest law. It belongs to the United States. It belongs to all Americans.
